Weekly lessons are $20 per 30 minutes. Lesson times are reserved and guaranteed for each student. Depending upon times available, rescheduling is acceptable with advanced notice.

I have played the piano for most of my life, after having taken lessons for a little over a year in middle school, which was too many years ago to count! Even though I have played the piano for many years, accompanying congregations and soloists in our church, and learning things on my own, I came to realize that there were skills I needed to improve, and new ones to learn.

Several years ago, while homeschooling my three children, I decided that I needed to make room in our busy schedule for a little personal time. Mikesell's Music was recommended to me by a friend at church. In these last few years, I have learned so much---improving my skills and correcting techniques that I have been doing incorrectly for so long. Marian has worked with me in a flexible way, using an eclectic approach of classical, contemporary, sacred, and secular music, while concentrating on areas that we feel require improvement. We often discuss music theory and contemporary issues in music, and talk about practical application of skills learned.

Marian's instruction and encouragement have given me a level of expertise and confidence in myself that I could never have gained through self-guided practice alone. There have been many times lately when I have learned a piece of music that I would never have attempted years ago, because it looked too "hard." Thanks to Marian for her excellent teaching and encouragement--I am glad to be one of her students!
